The things we create

There’s a legend that Genghis Khan once told his generals it was “pointless to build cities, because we all touch the world lightly”.

How incredibly wrong he was. Very few have affected the world as much as Genghis Khan.

But from his perspective, from the perspective of each of us, it is completely true.

We get a few imperfect days, some long hours and short weeks. And that’s it.

Only the stuff we create can last. And those things can have impact far beyond our light touch on this world.
